good news

Chest X-ray was negative. Bayvin got her skin test done and she tested negative. Grif is gonna get his soon, supposedly the doc's office has yet to call me back. Told me they have to get doc approval and to make sure they actually have it, pretty much went "what the fuck" but whatever. Hate that doctor and her office, so by March he's gonna have my doctor.

hey,

i had an ordeal with a health department where a Nurse Practitioner did not know how to read a skin test. She and another decided to have it out in front of me.

OMG!!! what a freak show it was!!!

So, I told them to figure it out among themselves and call me.of i walked out of the health department.

In the mean time, i went to another local health department, and another TB nurse told me that it was negative. She gave me a slip stating that it was negative.

A couple days later, I found a note on my from door from the first health department stating to call them immediately.

i ignored the note (because i had already had it read by the TB nurse--at the time two other nurses-one a RN and the other a Nurse Practiontioner. Well, they were pretty persistent. So I called the TB nurse, and she said that she would calm things down. She came to my home administered me another skin test, and two days later she read it and it was NEGATIVEO',....

she told me she would straighten out the other two nurses.

As far as i know, the TB nurse is the only nurse that can read TB results here in KY, I think there are a couple of TB nurses in my area.

See why only certain people should be designated for this area of medicine. She, the TB nurse told me, she had been the TB nurse for twenty some years......exactly......she knows what the F*** she is doing.

she told me, BUMP matters, not redness. LOOK FOR A BUMP< A HARD BUMP< and you will know when you feel the bump, she said, she had read enough skin tests, and have had people take chest xrays and it was not necessary. She said she gained all that experience within the first few years of her career as a TB nurse. I am so fortunate to have had her.

she is now retired.

OMG!!! i just got another PPD, and it is negative, i get it read tomorrow, well see!.....

i think the nurse that give me my skin test on mon, went below the dermis, it burn, and what happened was she injected me before the alcohol dried, and she went in with the needle and then pulled out a little, she pushed alcohol below the dermis and that is what burned. i noticed what she did.

i am in nursing school, and i have had some clinical training on injections, and i was a nursing asst for years, and i had PPD skin tests every year, and i have never had a positive reading.

that RN and THAT FREAKIN NURSE PRACTITIONER!!! did not know what the F*** they were doing.

the thing was positive, it was hard and it was huge, i had it looked at by a doctor, not a nurse or nurse practioner. I'm tired of people commenting on these posts like my test was negative. But whatever. My mom always has positive TB tests and gets chest xrays and they're always negative. The thing also stayed there for weeks. And I've also gone through the treatment.
