spent the night in ER

Yep.
I had a headache since afternoon of Tuesday, and it wasn't going anyway, and I started to get nauseous it was so bad, and vicodin wasn't helping it, I tried to take other stuff, advil, aleve, whatever, wasn't helping. I get them now and again, but usually I get feel sick, dont' ever throw up, well I did twice yesterday, the second time was around 11:00pm and I couldn't take the pain in my back when I did it, so I couldn't risk throwing up again. Went to ER, they gave me an IV and some drugs, and I layed there freezing my ass off for a couple hours and then they took the IV, doc came in (yeah think it was like 1:30 when the doc came in, took forfreakingever) Just asked what was going on, ok, we'll get you some more drugs, and that's it, they gave me a Vicodin 10, which I already had at home, but whatever. Funny thing, they asked if I wanted 2, TWO 10s... I'm sure I would have passed out with that. I went home about 3:30am with a prescription for migraine medicine and some depositories if I get nauseous again. I would think the thought of putting something up my ass would make me MORE nauseous, dunno if I'd use those, and if the migraine medicine actually helped the nausea would be gone anyway.

Feeling better today, don't have a headache.

Been seeing a chiropractor too. I've seen him twice, seeing him again today. Hasn't help yet.

Saw my doc again, gave me a prescription for 120 vicodin, its a LOT, and told me to keep pestering the doctor's office and I should get in sooner. But that's all that they can do for me, is give me pain meds, they're all out of ideas which is why I'm going to the specialist.

ugh, sorry to hear that - migraines are a bitch.

one thing that helps me are cold compresses.. buy one at walgreens and keep it in the freezer in case. when all else fails, sometimes the icepacks help.

why is it they keep it so cold in the ER anyway? i don't understand.

it was cause of the IV, they're pouring cold liquid into ALL your veins and then they keep the ac on for the people who get hot, and i had 5 warm blankets on me and i was freezing.

How long have you had migraines?

i get them occasionally, for the longest time, years, just usually feel a little nauseous, but haven't ever thrown up from them. Think it was the vicodin helping the nausea. But I've been taking excedrin migraine for headaches for the longest time, nothing else was working, course that doesn't work as well anymore either.
